New
Administrative
Capital Project

Egypt

Background

Egypt’s new administrative capital is a large-scale project of 30 miles east of Cairo, Egypt. The government is building a new capital with an urban utopia with green spaces, mega malls, and luxury housing developments. The city would become the new administrative and financial capital of Egypt, housing the main government departments and ministries, as well as foreign embassies. On 700 square kilometers (270 square miles) total area, it would have a population of seven million people to be completed between 2020 and 2022.

Challenges

The project accommodated a large scale of cooling plants with a cooling capacity up to 60,000 tons per hour, the way the project was designed with such a vast network focus on the quality and engineering capabilities of the pipeline network that transported a mass of energy with minimum loss.
