XTRU-THERM® Cryogenic piping is a high density polyethylene jacketed, polyurethane foam insulated piping system for above ground and below ground distribution of cryogenic liquids and gases from -100°F to -320°F(-196°C).
XTRU-THERM® ® pre-fabricated cryogenic piping systems provide a cost effective, maintenance free alternative method to transfer cryogenic liquids and gases. The six step construction process has proven to be economical, efficient and highly durable in the most severe and critical applications. Constructed of two independent layers of spray-applied polyurethane foam separated by a glass fiber/PVDC blanket allows for independent thermal movement between piping and insulation layers. The spray applied polyurethane foam insulating process assures 100% uniform, void-free insulation. Glass fiber contraction joints are designed into the system to compensate for the different rates of contraction between the carrier pipe, first layer and second layer of insulation. XTRU-THERM®’s outer layer of insulation is encased in a watertight integral high density polyethylene jacket that is extruded directly onto the outer layer. Application of insulation and jacket is done by automated equipment at PERMA-PIPE®’s manufacturing plants and is computer controlled for maximum quality assurance.
